Many of us remember carrying our "bookbags" down this section of Logan Street through rain, sun, and snow on our way to grade school, high school or catching the No. 23 trolly to go shopping "up the avenue." But did you know that the cemetary wall we walked past all those years was guarding two acres of over 1,000 graves? The cemetery was deeded in 1692 to the "Germantown Borough" and called the "Lower Burial Ground." Here lies the British officers General Agnew and Colonel Bird with 41 soldiers from the Revolutionary War.
